Sesame tofu don-buri

Ingredients:

Serving: 3-4 people

Main:

  • Tofu
  •  1x Onion
  • 2-3 Green pepper
  • Spring onion (Optional)
  • White Sesame

NB: For vegetable donburi, may include vegetables such as green beans, broccolis and carrots.

Sauce:
• Water (4-7 tbsp)
• Soy Sauce (4 tbsp)
• Vegan oyster/mushroom sauce (tbsp)
• Sesame oil (2 tbsp)
• Sugar (2tbsp)
• Vegan honey (2tbsp)
• Corn starch or Potato starch powder (1 tbsp)

Tofu batter:
• Salt
• Corn starch or potato starch powder (cover twice)
• Pepper
• Spicy herbs (sprinkle) – Optional

Cooking instruction:

Rice:

• Prepare the rice

Prepare sauce:

1. Prep sauce: *see above*

Prepare tofu:

  • Slice into layers
  • Dry it with paper towels
  • Then cut into cubes
  • Add corn starch powder or potato starch powder
  • Bake & rotate sides until all harden
  • Add more corn starch powder
  • Add salt (Optional)
  • Fry it in a pan with oil until turn golden

Final:

  • Stir fry the veg:
  • Heat up pan with oil
  • Cook sliced onion until golden
  • Add green pepper
  • Add fried tofu
  • Add sauce

Garnish:

  • Include sesame seed for presentation
