It’s not always easy to be at peace in the present moment
To be at peace in the present moment is not an easy thing to do. It is indeed a blessing to be in such state.
One needs to be blessed enough to be in a comfortable and safe space to put their guard down and not be reactive or on edge.
One needs to be blessed with security, acceptance of their karma or have faith in the way to not be worried and anxious about the future.
One needs to be blessed with enough insight wisdom to be unattached and unmoved by sensory stimulus, afflicted emotions or false thoughts (via the practice of meditation). And just be at present with a calm mind.
One needs to be have enough state of calm bliss to not rely on extreme state of fight or flight to be present.
One need to have enough moral virtue, good karma and a repented heart to not be haunted by their own remorse or regrets.
One need enough have enough carefree heart that lets go of the past attachments and trauma.
One needs to have enough faith and courage in themselves to let go and not be controlled by their own conceptual mind (that is run by the insecure, ego-based, analytical and intellectualised mind). One needs to let go of the addiction of superficial knowing and only see it as temporary functional tools but not the true mind. The true mind is supreme, intuitive and the real all knowing that lies dormant in our unconscious and awaits for our awakening once our false thoughts and emotions is blown away. One must over come the fear of letting go of the defensive protective insecure conceptual mind. Do not fear as the tools will always be there when needed.
One needs a great compassionate heart to put up with difficulties the inner works we go through, find inner peace and be a quiet standing light house for the world. For without compassion, it is easy to retreat and transgress into our selfish and indulging miserable world with fleeting temporary worldly pleasures.
It’s hard for an adult to return to that natural state of ‘just being’ like a child. At peace with the present moment and with calm heart, seeing the way things are without afflictions, worries about the future nor using the conceptual mind. I guess sometimes peace is a product of blessing, morality, wisdom insight and meditation.
